COURT FINES & FEES
MVBA combines the expertise of a law firm having over 44 years of experience in the collection of local governmental debts with the most advanced technological debt collection program. This expertise, experience, and superior technology combine to create an effective program for the collection of delinquent fines and fees for Justice, County and Municipal Courts. Communication and personal service are the cornerstones of the program. Our Debt Collection program incorporates the individual policies and procedures of each court while assuming the delinquent collection program as the courts “Virtual Clerk”.
MVBA not only notifies the defendant of the obligation, we direct all contact to our office where we handle payments, payment arrangements and questions.
Our program features nationwide debtor skip-tracing, written payment demands, in-house management of payment arrangements, focused telephone collection campaigns, bilingual professional telephone collectors, along with the latest software and call center collection technology to enhance collections.
Increased Revenues
Many local governments are experiencing declining revenues and are searching for ways to increase their revenue without resorting to increasing taxes and fees.
MVBA’s Debt Collection Program ensures that every effort is being made to collect outstanding debts and maximize the collection of local revenue.
Increased Resolution of Unresolved Cases
MVBA's Debt Collection Program addresses all delinquent cases by collecting the amounts due or reducing the backlog of unpaid cases by resolving inaccuracies in the records.
Increased Public Awareness
MVBA’s intensive notification process increases public awareness of the need to voluntarily comply with requests for payment of fines and fees and the consequences for failure to do so.
Automated Verification or Identification of Defendant Addresses
Our automated nationwide address skip tracing and telephone identification process locates debtors who are then notified by letter and by telephone of any outstanding fines.
Protection of Defendant’s Due Process Rights
Any defendant who has not appeared before the court and entered a plea is given the opportunity to enter a plea in all correspondence initiated by
MVBA.
Costs of Collecting Unresolved Cases Virtually Eliminated
Through the adoption of an additional collection fee provided for by Article 103.0031, Texas Code of Criminal Procedure, a significant portion of the cost of collection services for court fines & fees can be passed on directly to the debtor.*
